MOCHIZUKI
by Ayako Mochizuki
Was born in Japan in 1983.
She spent her childhood in the country side.
After graduating from high school, studied pop art and basic art at an art school in Tokyo. While still in school, she began painting walls and designing shop windows for restaurants and stores. Having the opportunity to make hats and accessories for a costume production, she started the contemporary jewelry "MOCHIZUKI" in 2010. She moved to Italy to study at a jewelry studio end school in Florence. Fascinated by glass and ornaments excavated from ancient ruins that she encountered at an archeological museum, she is now exploring new forms of jewelry that combine various ages and historical backgrounds, using mainly ancient glass beads and antique trade beads that preserve old handwork.
